Guntha is one of the traditional units of land measurement used in some parts of India. It is also called Gunta in some states.

Guntha is being majorly employed for the measurement of plots and lands in the western and southern states of India, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Odisha. It is mainly employed in rural areas and for the measurement of shorter land parcels usually less than an acre.

Officially, Guntha is equivalent to 101.17 square meters (sq m), 121 square yards (sq yd), or 1,089 square feet (sq ft).  Further, 40 Guntha create one acre. However, in Maharashtra, one Guntha is unofficially guided to as 100 sq m. or 1,076.4 sq ft.

Bigha is one of the traditional units of measurement of land employed in the North Indian States. Bigha is being employed in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Uttarakhand states for the purposes of measurement of land. However, the value of Bigha is distinct from one state to another.

Pucca or pakka bigha has been generally employed in Rajasthan and parts of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, while kuchha bigha was mostly employed by landlords when dealing with their tenants.
