1. Quintal to Ton
The ton is a unit of measurement of mass that is equal to 2000 lb (exactly 907.18474 kg). In the United States of America, it is frequently called “ton” without distinguishing it from the metric ton (or tonne) and the long ton —rather, the other two are particularly mentioned. There are, however, some U.S. uses for which “tons”, even if unspecified, are usually long tons (e.g., Navy ships) or metric tons (e.g., world grain production figures).
Quintal may be defined as 100 base units, such as pounds or kilograms. It is a traditional measurement unit of weight used in France, Portugal, Spain and their former colonies. It is typically employed for grain prices in wholesale markets in Ethiopia and India, where
1 quintal = 100 kg.
