Vinci to build, operate 106 charging stations in Germany

The German Ministry for Digital and Transport has awarded Vinci Concessions three contracts to install 828 electric-vehicle charging points at 106 stations around Berlin, Hamburg and Leipzig.
Through its subsidiary, eliso, Vinci Concessions will be tasked with acquiring land, installing the stations, and operating them for 12 years, with the first set to open in 2024.
Vinci said the combined investment amounted to some €200m, subsidised in part by the concession-granting authority.
The charging points will achieve the ultra-fast 400kW power rating, currently the highest standard.
Vinci Energies’ Omexom subsidiary will help with electrical works.
Vinci Highways is the leading motorway operator in Germany, with five public-private partnerships adding up to more than 200km of motorways and federal roads currently in operation or under construction.
