Green Building Alliance celebrates World Green Building Week (WGBW), the world’s largest annual campaign to accelerate sustainable built environments across the globe. This week, visit the hashtag #BuildingTheTransition to view solutions for a sustainable built environment from leaders and organizations around the world. @worldgbc

Thanks to federal initiatives such as the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Federal Buy Clean Initiative, financial support for the US sustainable building market has grown exponentially. GBA is proud to collaborate with trailblazers in and around Western Pennsylvania to contribute to the region’s decades-long leadership in sustainable development.

In the past year, GBA and our partners have made tremendous progress toward #reducing, #adapting and #electrifying the built environment:

🏙️ Property Partners across Pittsburgh’s and Erie’s 2030 Districts reduced energy saved a cumulative total of $64.7 million in energy costs in 2023.
🏙️ With support from @energy Renew America’s Schools, Green Building Alliance is working alongside @pittsburghpublicschools @wilkinsburgsd and @ten.saves to improve indoor air quality in 20 local schools.
🏙️ Green Building Alliance was recently awarded a three-year, $1.48 million grant from @usdol Workforce Opportunities for Rural Communities (WORC) fund to launch our Green Pathways Initiative, focusing on rural communities in Allegheny, Beaver, Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.

GBA is here to provide technical assistance to project teams around Western Pennsylvania. Our staff can recommend strategies to promote energy efficiency, lower utility costs, increase resiliency to extreme weather events, safeguard occupant health and wellness, and more. Whether you’re looking for assistance on a single building or a community -wide sustainability plan, we’re here to help. Reach out to info@gbapgh.org for more information.
